20 Weeks...

Here is a picture of Nevaeh (posing like only she knows how) and daddy and then a pic of me and the baby.
I am currently 20 weeks and growing.  My little lady just had to jump into the shot, what a cutie.  Man this belly is popping out over night but I can't complain because I LOVE IT!
We have our 5 month appointment next Tuesday and we get to find out the sex of our little baby BUT we have decided to keep it a surprise... I think it will be so much fun to find out on delivery day what our baby's name will be!  Jacob doesn't agree with me but he is willing to go along with it.  I know the excitement of finding out on our baby's birthday will be super extra special!
I will post another picture of my growing self in a few weeks!

Drum Roll Please...

Here I am at 4 1/2 months (18 weeks)!  I am showing ALREADY!!  I can't really complain, I love it and can't wait for everyone to be able to notice.  My tummy is bigger at 18 weeks this time around than it was with Nevaeh but over all I think I am much healthier with this pregnancy!
I think I will update every few weeks with a new picture!

Camera?!?!

Sadly, our camera is on strike!!  It took it's last picture about 2 weeks ago and now refuses to open up it's lens.  So now that I am finally starting to really "show" I have no camera to document it.  I am now 17 weeks along and my tummy is noticeably bigger, slightly rounder and puffier, kind of cute, I think.  As soon as we buy our new camera we will post a picture of our growing little one.
I am still feeling GREAT, not a care in the world.  Other than I am now starting to show and I haven't exactly disclosed my pregnancy information at work.  I wanted to prove that I am an asset to the company before the big "reveal" but I think I might have to let the cat out of bag within the next week or so.  A girl in my training class asked me "are you planning to have more kids" and as soon as I muttered "yes" she asked "WHEN?", I don't know maybe I am just being paranoid but I think she is on to me!  I know it is illegal to fire me based on my pregnancy but I am sure they could come up with some other reason if I wasn't a STAR at my job, right?  I don't know, but so far I am doing great.  Passed 4 of 8 training exams with almost perfect scores, so I think I am going to let them know after I pass the next two.  My tummy is begging not to be sucked in anymore... especially after lunch!

Now about my little Nevaeh.  She LOVES her new school!  She cried the week before she started because she continued asking "when am I starting school?" and we would say "next week" then she would say "I am never going to school" and whimper.  She has now been in school full time for a full week and it is as if she has been at that school for MONTHS!  She is such a social kid, thanks to daddy!  I am so thankful that she enjoys going to school and doesn't mind being there from 8 to 4.  If it wasn't for her easy transition I don't think I would have been able to fully focus at work...

I feel so blessed and thankful for everything and everyone in our lives... we honestly couldn't ask for anything more.

OH, I have felt the muchkin' MOVE!!  Crazy...

Muffin Playdate!

Yesterday our great friend Liam invited us over his home to bake some banana muffins.  Nevaeh had such a great time in the kitchen!  She helped mash bananas, sift flour and fill the muffin liners and to top it off it wasn't as messy as it could have been!  We had such a great time with our wonderful friends!  And to top it off the muffins were fantastic, we made enough to bring some home for daddy.
Thanks again Ms. Beth (or as Nevaeh says, "Ms. Beff) and Liam!

Got to love Southern California!

Yes, I understand it is JANUARY but we are having such ridiculously nice weather we decided to meet our friends at the beach.  We started off with a little speed walking (trying to get a workout in) then we headed out to the sand for some fun!  All the kids had such a great time... Nevaeh is currently fast asleep from all the running around and searching for seashells!

Mini-Golf

On Friday morning Jacob Nevaeh and I decided head to IHOP for a DELICIOUS breakfast then we made our way to Nevaeh's new school... which was AWESOME.  The school is very nice and the teachers were even nicer.  Nevaeh really like it as well and she can't wait to play on their playground.    Taking the trip to her new school made me feel so much better about her changing schools and about me going back to work!   After the nice trip to Vista Christian we went to Boomers for some mini-golf.  It was so much fun and the weather couldn't have been better!  Nevaeh loved it and she got better and better.  We then played a few games inside then headed home just in time for a much needed nap... for me.

Guilt, job, preschool and more guilt

This year marks my 3 year anniversary as a stay at home mom.  Making the decision to stay at home was not an easy one to make.  I tried to think about all options and weigh pros and cons for both.  Speaking with my mother did NOT help, she is a "don't let a man support you", "make sure you can take care of yourself", "you never know what the future holds so be prepared" kind of gal.  So when I brought up the idea of staying home she was against it from the very beginning.  She didn't want Jacob to support us financially because she felt I would have no say in anything.  Jacob and I finally made the decision (on our own) that the best thing for our family would be for me to stay home with our little one.  Even though Jacob and I made the decision together as a family, I felt very GUILTY about not being able to help my husband financially.  I knew he would have to carry a big burden on his own and that caused great amounts of guilt.  Jacob doesn't complain or even admit to the "burden" but I know it was there.

Due to this guilt I decided to apply for part time jobs with reputable companies (if I was going to work I wanted to make sure it was worth it).  But no one called.  I was fine with that because at least I felt I was "trying" to help.  Low and behold SDG&E called me right before Christmas and asked me if I was interested in a part time job.  My initial reaction was NO but then Jacob and I discussed it and I figured it wouldn't hurt to at least interview, right?  WRONG... I got the job!  Which is a good and bad thing.  I love the idea of returning to work and actually contributing financially to our family, since this job pays fairly well and has GREAT opportunity for advancement.  We might be able to move out of our shoe box and into a bigger home... eventually.  This will only be a part time job (after a 6 week full time training), so I should be able to be home with Nevaeh most days out of the week... or at least some days out of the week.  Also, I enjoy working and learning new things.... BUT

Now we have to put Nevaeh in a new school.  One that can take her full time (due to the training).  I feel horrible pulling her out of her school, which she LOVES.  We have been discussing her "new" school for a while and the fact that today would be the last day of her "old" school.  She seemed to understand and all was well until I took her to school this morning.  Maybe it is just my pregnancy hormones but I started to cry, she is so happy at this school.  She loves her friends and teachers and now I am going to take her out... am I being selfish?

Here is were the "new" guilt comes in.  Now I feel guilty about going to work and disrupting Nevaeh's life.  This is a really good thing for our family because although we have been able to make it with one income ... we have only been able to make it.  Now with a 2nd incomes we will be able to make some progress, which is needed with a new baby on the way.

When does the guilt end?  Does it ever end?  Am I not giving Nevaeh enough credit?  She has adjusted very well so far.  Am I not giving myself enough credit?
